I suggest that we all ( or whoever can ) add here the glossaries from our handouts.
Let me "throw the first match" :
OSTENSIBLE: seeming to be the reason for or the purpose of something, but usually hiding the real reason or purpose e.g. The ostensible reason for his resignation was ill health (rzekomy, pozorny)
CRIMINALIZE (v) to make something illegal, or to say that someone is a criminal because of something they have done e.g. In 1937, the U.S. government criminalized the use of marijuana.
BYPASS: (v) to avoid obeying a rule, system, or someone in an official position e.g. There should be no way of bypassing the security measures on the computer ( ominąć, pominąć )
CLOUD: (v) to make a subject or problem more difficult to understand or deal with ; e.g. cloud the issue/picture etc ( zaciemnić, skomplikować )
STEER CLEAR (v) to avoid someone or something unpleasant or difficult ; e.g. British politicians tend to steer clear of religious topics ( trzymać się z daleka, unikać )
EGGHEAD someone who is very intelligent, and only interested in ideas and books ; e.g. You know, the egghead, absent-minded-professor types with bad haircuts and jackets with elbow patches. ( jajogłowy
PRESSURISE (v) to persuade someone to do something by making them feel it is their duty to do it ; Everyone is being pressurized to vote

An umbrella term - is a word that provides a superset or grouping of related concepts. Thus cryptology is an umbrella term that encompasses cryptography and cryptanalysis.
